no dos attacks today, something else on the server causing load, I'm trying to figure it out, its tough with the holiday season, lots of people are off or busy, I hope you all understand and bear with us, next year will be an even better year so we're going into high gear and getting GWGuru its own server, just as powerful as the one right now:
Dual Index Xeon 3.0GHz/2MB Cache, 800MHz FSB Processors
4GB DDR2 400MHz RAM
2x 73GB 10K RPM Ultra 320 SCSI Hard Drive

Inde and staff, good work. Other GW forums don't even compare! Super long load times, not because of DOS attacks, but beacuse of Signatures.
This site is great, and keep doing whatever you have been doing, we all appreciate it!

Thanks for keeping it so well maintained, and good luck blocking the DDOS.

Most understand Kzap...but it always seems to be more negitive coming out then positive...Human nature I guess.

Many of us though appreciate your hard work....seems we are a quiet bunch when it comes to that.

Let me be the first to toast you all on a good year ahead....Happy New Years..!

I'm still getting long delays and "not found" IE error pages, are those attacks still continuing? I also had a couple of database error messages very recently (not IE but mySQL or whatever it is that's used here I forget)

p.s. not complaining just posting observations in case it helps any.

erm... could someone explain to me what a DDOS attack actually is? I heard somewhere that it's when a computer sends loads of requests to the server, but I'm not sure about the details or anything.

Whatever it is, you seem to be coping very well with it.

The mySQL error was just a few minutes before I made the post in this thread, it gave some error message and said it was going to send an email to the admins (standard message I presume)

I got another IE error/"not found, dns error" type of thing just a minute or so ago while editing the supertank thread I added in the Nolani section. It seems to come and go (appears to be fine again as I type)

Found errors, did you? No? Then you know what you can do.
<rant> I'm tired of people knocking wikipedia for no other reason than that they believe the propaganda from the owners of the commercial encyclopedias. It's actually a good encyclopedia, certainly better than e.g. Encyclopedia Britannica.</rant>

Ironically there was an article where the founder of Britanica said he uses Wikipedia sometimes.

But yes, today and yesterday i cannot access the auction. It may just be me.

And I appreciate all the work you guys do.
